Mattias Larsson, associate professor at Karolinska Institutet, honorary professor at Hanoi Medical University, head of Training and Research Academic Collaboration (TRAC) Sweden Vietnam and pediatrician at Family Medical Practice, Hanoi. He first came to Vietnam in 1997 and defended in 2003 his thesis “Antibiotic use and resistance - Assessing and Improving Utilization and provision of Antibiotics and other drugs in Vietnam”. He has spent about eleven years in Vietnam working primarily with medical and research training within pediatrics and infectious diseases for Karolinska Institutet in collaboration with Hanoi Medical University and Vietnam National Children’s Hospital as well as senior clinical researcher at Oxford University Clinical Research Unit. He has conducted research and implemented courses including Global Health, Global Pediatrics and Tropical Medicine in Vietnam, India, Thailand, Cuba, Laos, Uganda, Tanzania Peru and Bolivia and was during the Ebola Response 2014 posted in Liberia. He has about 50 international peer reviewed publications and supervised for 4 PhD students who defended their thesis.
