Dr. Judy Guzman-Cottrill is a Professor of Pediatrics at Oregon Health & Science University, where she has been a faculty member in the Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases since 2004. From 2004-2015, she served as co-chair of the Infection Prevention and Control Committee and as the Pediatric Medical Director of Infection Control at Doernbecher Children's Hospital in Portland, OR.
Dr. Guzman-Cottrill is currently an infection prevention and healthcare epidemiology consultant for the Oregon Health Authority’s HAI Program, where she serves as the Medical Director for Ebola and Emerging Pathogen Preparedness. She served on the SHEA Board of Trustees from 2014-2016.
In 2016, Dr. Guzman-Cottrill was appointed Chair of the SHEA/CDC Outbreak Response Training Program’s (ORTP) Advisory Panel. The ORTP was designed to provide US hospital epidemiologists with the tools and training necessary to effectively lead in order to protect patients and healthcare workers during public health emergencies as well as non-emergent situations such as facility outbreaks. She also currently serves as Chair of the SHEA Public Health Task Force.
