Andreas Voss, MD, PhD
Is professor of Infection Control at the Radboud University Medical Centre, and clinical microbiologist and head at he department of Medical MIcrobiology at Canisius-Wilhelmina Hospital, Nijmegen, The Netherlands.
He holds an MD and PhD from the Faculty of Medical Science of the Technical University in Munich, was a Fellow-Associate, at the Division of General Medicine, and Clinical Epidemiology, at the University of Iowa Clinics and Hospitals, Iowa City,Iowa, USA, and holds another PhD from the Radboud University Medical Centre.
Professor Voss served on many (inter)national, professional boards (i.e. ESCMID, SHEA, and ICAN) and is a former program director of ECCMID, a member of the WHO core-group on hand hygiene, Founding Editor-in-Chief of a BMC journal “Antimicrobial Resistance & Infection Control” and Co-chair of the International Conference on Prevention and Infection Control (ICPIC). He is presently board member of NVMM and SWAB as well as president-elect of the International Society of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy (ISAC). His main work interests are the prevention and epidemiology of health-care associated infections (including those caused by multi-drug resistant pathogens such as MRSA, VRE, ESBL), hand hygiene, and behavioural change.
